Spaces

Give your assistant persistent context for your work.

Give your assistant persistent context for your work — guidelines, know-how, and documents — without repeating that background in every chat.

Glossary

  • Space: a container of context — guidelines, know-how, and documents — that your assistant draws on.
  • Active Space: the Space currently injecting its context into your chats. Only one Space can be active at a time.
  • Template: a Space published by your organisation that others can create their own Space from.
  • Linked (read-only): a Space created from a template, kept in sync with it automatically.
  • Forked (editable): a linked Space converted to an independent copy that no longer receives template updates.

What is a Space?

A Space holds the context you want your assistant to have for a piece of work: instructions, background know-how, and any documents you attach. Activating a Space injects that context into your chats.

Only one Space can be active at a time. Activating a different Space switches to it directly — there's no need to turn the current one off first.

Creating a Space

From Spaces, choose:

  • Start blank — write your own instructions and add context as you go.
  • Use a template — pick a ready-made Space published by your organisation.

Activating and switching

Every Space card has an Activate control. Activating a Space:

  • Makes it the active Space — whichever Space was active before is deactivated automatically.
  • Injects its context into every chat you start from that point on.

To stop using Space context altogether, deactivate the active Space. Nothing about the Space itself changes — its instructions and documents stay intact, and you can turn it back on anytime.

Sharing with your organisation

Set a Space's visibility to Shared with organisation to make it available to your colleagues. A shared Space appears under Shared with you for other members, who can activate it but can't edit its name, instructions, or visibility — only the owner can.

Organisation templates

A Space created from an organisation template is either:

  • Linked — its instructions stay read-only and update automatically whenever the organisation's template changes.
  • Forked — an editable copy that no longer receives template updates. Use Make editable copy on a linked Space to switch to this mode; it can't be undone.

Adding documents

Upload a document to a Space and it's summarized into the Space's context automatically, filed under its own section of the instructions — no manual copy-pasting required.

Frequently asked questions

What changes when I turn a Space off?

Its context stops being added to new messages. Nothing is deleted, and you can turn a Space back on anytime.

Can I have more than one Space active?

No — activating a Space always deactivates whichever one was active before.

Can I edit a Space someone else shared with me?

No. Only the owner can edit a Space's name, instructions, or visibility. Ask the owner if you need a change, or start your own Space with the same idea.
